Here is a ring that I thought was just a child's friendship ring because it is small. Afriend told me he thought it is an Irish wedding ring. On my Ace 250 it reads out as a dime. Anyone out there have any ideas?

Nice Claddagh ring!

The Claddagh ring is a traditional Irish ring given in friendship or worn as a wedding ring. The design and customs associated with it originated in the Irish fishing village of Claddagh, located just outside the old walls of the city of Galway. The ring was first produced in the 17th century during the reign of Queen Mary II, though elements of the design are much older. (wiki)

Hello, Montana,

THANKS, EVERYONE FOR YOUR GOOD REPLIES.

Cynangyl, it does make it special knowing the history of that design. I had no idea that it had such an important
background.I appreciate it that he gave me such a thorough write-up showing how it originated.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Ray

Nice ring. Does it have a hallmark on the ID? James Avery , a high end silversmith in Tx makes one like that. I have found a few. It would have a candleabra? (canldleholder) . Congrats. HH Gayle
