Found detecting the river

Me and my buddy were detecting the river Sunday and found this. I offered to upload it here. Any ideas? I believe it's copper.

You win, my friend. Someone just walked into my office and asked what it was, I said I forgot to check and read this... it was a hit.

I'm leaning more lamp. It's ornate, possibly a lamp fixture.

With this added info... I am changing my guess to part of a "cruet".

Looks like a large decorative lid to something. The doo-dad on the first picture facing the viewer is where it snapped shut. In the second picture at 12 o'clock it looks like it was torn off a hinge. Either that or I've got an usual imagination...

Is it hollow? Could a hose be attached and it be a stationary sprinkler?
