Okay found this religious item.... It says 1830 but I'm thinking no way its that old but a nice piece anyway. Was 6 inches down on an old property. I'm not Catholic so is the date something that is special to this religion??? Any ideas on the marks on the back??? Thanks Brad

Interesting. I found this the other day. It's tiny. Smaller than a penny.

You are correct about the date. I remember seeing one like that on here last year. The date has some religious connotation.

You're right. The date actually represents the year the saint was elected and honored. I have many like this.

its a catholic "miracolus medal " that celebrates the " mary mother of god vision -- miracle of 1830" the event occured in 1830 thus the date .

Miraculous medal

cool find! With the markings someone should be able to help Identify it !!! HH Chug Ok some one posted befor me and it looks like they have Info!!! Chug

Okay....thinks for the ID help! I guess its not a very valuable piece.....it seems to light to be anything other than gold plated aluminum. thanks again for the info!

I just found one of these last week! I am pretty sure mine is aluminum or pewter or something like that.

Nice medallion...even if it's not Gold.

My experience is about 50 non Gold to 1 Gold medallion (about 10 to 1 for Silver).

When you find the Gold you'll know it...keep looking.

Here's my favorite 18K found last year .. marked 750 on the back.
