We dug TONS of these in a certain spot. My buddy's dug over 20 in that same spot. What are these? They look like rivets, but to what?

rivets like that to my knowledge were already used on something, didnt find any thing else in the dig area? Pieces of rotting wood maybe?

looks like sling or bag/pouch or horse and saddle parts maybe, looks to be around the right length.

Leather straps were what inch and a half or so width on things then?

Cant think of much wooden it would be on besides carriages.

I helped my Grandad make wooden stock racks for a 2 ton truck. All of the attachments were made w./cold rivets. They looked a lot like that.

could be thread spools, something i imagine they needed alot of then too

From an ammo chest, wagon, limber, caisson, ect?

That's what we were thinking. Possibly an ammo crate. We are finding multiple bullets in a hole in this area. One hole produced over 30.

Something where a random spark would be dangerous, like an ammo chest.
