Hmm, sort of Art Nouveau style. Front of a locket perhaps?

i found a similar type piece a few years ago-- mine was a pharoh head. Wasn't till last year that I saw the same time of pharoh head as an antique spoon attachment. So I think your piece may have been a decorative piece for a spoon back in the 20s to 40s or so.
