Found Many Bottles & Some Nice Relics

Hello All. Dug four old home sites 1880's thru 1920's...at the youngest site I found several bottle / garbage pits.

The bottles, over (50) in all are vintage corkers and screw tops...they kept coming out intact, I could not believe it...I even dug intact light bulbs!! Of the bottles I can identify there are (17) different companies represented:
3 in 1 Oil, AS Hinds, Canada Dry, Citrate Magnesia, Clorox (a corker with the rubber stopper), Chesebourgh, Heinz, Lysol, Listerene, French's, Putnam Grapejuice, Humphrey's, Squibb, Vick's, Wildroot, Wm R Warner Co, and Walker's S Kilmarnock Whisky...I still have a few more pits identified yet to dig...TOO RITE...I love finding bottles.

I know the bottles are of minimal value but they were great fun to excavate...my wife is freaking out cuz we are short on display space, but I can't throw 'em out right? Guess her vintage cook book collection will have to go??

Got some nice relics too. My favored ones are the spider and fly spirits bottle, vintage eye glasses, razor piece, and the nice blue costume jewelry brooch.

That looks to be a super fun search. Before I metal detected I searched farm dumps for bottles.

Hello All. Thanks for the great replies. Yes still more to dig at two of the sites and I did not dig today so I am rested and ready...just got this problem called "work" otherwise known as "paying the bills" but I should be able to get a few holes in anyway. Good Luck. C9

Those are cool finds I found a bottle dump from the 40s lots of broken glass I might just rip into it that's amazing!!Be carefull moving those cook books pandoras box..Lol Thanks for sharing your finds!

Hello A2coins. Yep I love finding and excavating old trash dumps, you should go for it you never know what people threw out...BTW the cook book idea is out but maybe she will use some of them now!

Wow nice!! Also, i saw an edison bulb valued at a ridiculous price on antiques roadshow- just in case you wanna look into it.
