real nice collection your grandfather had. if it were me I would catalog and document the major pieces with a notarized letter. as time moves forward and we get away from the original sources of the finds information could get murky. I live in an area that has produced rich Native American artifacts. as with anything the fakers take advantage of this. I have heard of some people in my area now faking high dollar stuff. and they are apparently doing it well. 100+ years from now a notarized letter might be worth more than its weight in gold. A comparison is the dug CS belt plate market. this market has taken a hit due to the numerous fakes floating around. just my two cents. your collection looks amazing and I would protect the info associated with it as much as possible for future generations. congrats on finding those amazing items in a forgotten area!

Excuse me as I wipe the dribble off while looking at the pics! That is a premo collection! I would be proud to display what you have there, especially given they are from your grandfather! It would take years of hunting to even come close to what you have.... congrats! JR

They are worth getting a COA on the large stone items but you might be happy to just enjoy what you have. Looks like your Grand Dad had a passion for collecting . Try to get any history of where found if possible.

Bannerstones and effigys? Those are usually awesome. Nevertheless, those are incredible points from what I see. Nice bird points too. My quantity pales in comparison.

there are about 8 pipes birds, bear,fish ect. and hundreds of arrow and spear points.... i remember other axe heads bone tools ect that are still spread about the family. To many to keep posting here. i would like to get them papered. He was from Indiana and his brother and he used to hunt up and down the Mississippi river,during the depression he would take items in trade at the grocery store he ran.

just amazing stuff and the story makes them even better. but you need to document like everyone is saying, with pictures, COA's, affidavits and a narrative of all everyone in the family remembers....pictures of your granddad and his brother too.

Save your money, these are modern reproductions. Some of the points could be legitimate, but the hardstone and many (if not all) of the points are not ancient.

Put them out on a shelf and display them as decorative art, your grandpa would probably like that.
