I went on a short hunt after work to a site where they had just demolished the foundation of a building built in the 1880s. I found a bunch of junk as usual, a modern penny and what I believe is a small boot heel plate. I have only seen these on other people's posts. Do you think my guess is correct? Any guess on age? Obviously I cleaned it up. Electrolysis. Thanks for looking!

Great find asmerri. I am sure a member will jump in shortly with a suggested year(s).

Hi - yes it's a heelplate with octagonal design in nice condition. It dates to ca. 2nd half of the 19th century. Nice find! Please post the dimensions.

Hi Erik. I'm headed off to Mexico for a much needed week of vacation. Feel sorry for me:). Will send dimension pics when I get back.

Hi Erik,

I completely forgot to post dimensions of this heel plate after I got back from vacation. Any additional insight?

Thanks,

Andy
