Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Today the last day of my three day Labor Day weekend, I found my first silver ring ever. I didn't even have to dig for it, and there was no metal detector involve in its discovery. I had sat down at a picnic table to set up my x-terra 705, I looked to my left and the ring was setting on the other side near the far end of the table.

Sweet!! Techically you were detecting. Lol

Congratulations on your first silver ring. You would not have been there if not for detecting, so it's a solid find. Pretty too!

You ONLY found it because you were sitting next to your 705 - sure sounds like your 705 found it! :laughing7: Thanks for sharing...

Thats the way to grab them. No digging involved.

Congrats - very similar to my Wedding band - albeit mine is in Platinum.

Way to go!
I can tell you since I run an Xterra 305, they are fantastic machines, you'll be finding lots of cool stuff with it.
Congrats on the surface find, but don't forget to scan it so you know what it sounds like.
Good luck.

Awesome find..... surface finds are always a good thing

That's a nice find!!!!!!

Eyeball Mark I - you learn to use those a lot more - ask my neck from looking at the ground :laughing7: Cool score!!

Great finding treasure!

...was thinking - the person probably took it off so they would NOT lose it, then forgot about it. One find I had was similar in that it was obvious the person left a silver cross/chain on top of their gear, backpack, whatever, and just picked up the stuff and left; gently tossing the goods into the taller grass just beside the mowed area.

The thing was this a day before my birthday, so what a nice pre-birthday gift for me.

You must be living a good like for silver rings to just present themselves to you. Kudos, treasure is treasure, and I agree you were out on the hunt.
