My First Half Cent!

A new permission in WV, large home built in 1800. Focusing on the cornfield along the driveway, I have one day in the books. I found my first half-cent, an 1809. Also found this nice percussion capper, doing with some odds and ends including a WWI button. More to come!

There are several different ‘09s. Yours is too far gone to tell which one it is. Maybe you can tell with it in hand.

It took me (13) years to find one - a 1829 in pretty decent condition.
