Found my oldest silver coin yet!

Now that the snow has finally melted I headed back to a fairly local park to hunt. They are installing new sidewalks at this park so they have a lot of soil dug up. This is what caught my eye and brought me back to this park. I was not disappointed! I found my oldest silver coin ever! 1857 seated dime! And it is actually in pretty good condition. It was a fun hunt and it was nice to get back out for the first time since January. Don't forget to watch the video! Thanks for looking everyone and good luck!

It’s interesting that, given the technology of modern detectors, you can hunt a place, and start feeling that it’s pretty well played out. But let them remove 3, or 4, inches of dirt, and it comes back to life. Smart hunting on your part. Never pass up fresh dirt. Congratulations!

I agree. I think removing a layer of trash is what makes the most difference.
