So I finally got back into my friends 1790’s farm for some hunting.
Started out super slow just digging trash, then got a great signal from under an old clothes line. About 4” down and out popped an 1943S walking liberty half (first half found).
After that found a few wheats (1920 and 1918) in rough shape. Moving on.
Out around an old tree stump I dung my first Rosie, a 1947.… then more trash.
Moved out about 100 yards away from the house near and old fence line and got a screaming 34 on the nox showing Max depth. Dug and dug, then dug some more.
Out comes my first large cent, an 1824. Continued on my path and then got another signal
this time around 27-29. I was thinking silver dime, but nope… and 1834 Lc.
Now comes the one I need help with. I believe it’s an old cigarette case. The two LC’s
and this we’re all found within 8ft of each other. Didn’t clean it, just washed the dirt off with a toothbrush. Dont know if it’s silver and is 3” x 4” And has what I think is a Japanese hallmark on the inside of the back of the case.
An anyone identify this hallmark, curious about age and whether or not it’s silver.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and Happy Hunting!

Nice hunt!
Well done on the coppers, getting a new oldest coin, some silver.
I think it might be a cigarette case.
I see the small square hall mark-probably sterling.

Great finds, always find something under a clothesline. Congrats! Can't help on the case.

Looks like you had a most excellent day! Great finds. I love the image of the goat on the silver case.
