I found these bags about 30 or more years ago in a log pole barn that had fell mostly down. I thought I would post them to show the buckles, rings, buttons, brass slots, and brads on them. The buttons that hold the canvas inserts inside them look a lot like overalls buttons. I think these are probably from Indian wars or World war one. may help to ID some of your things or just show why you find so many brads. Sorry really did not know where I should post this Jess

Hi wow nice find. :icon_thumleft:

Those are cool as hell.

Good post Ozark. Actually it is a pretty good source of visual information.

Very cool find!

Thank you for sharing! :hello2:

I wonder if there is some oil or something a professional restorer might use to protect the leather? :dontknow:

Neats foot oil might do it.leather is still living, you have to feed it.

Pretty darn cool!

Nice find. Congrats. I agree a great source of information. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks huntsman I think you are right. They have been in one of my out building's for years. Professor and Red James Cash you are so right I should have my butt kicked for letting them hang on a nail where no one could enjoy them. I am going to town today and try and find some kind of oil to put on them. Then as lairmo says display them in our house Thanks for all the comments any thing over 100 years old should be took better care of. I am getting there to darn fast

Those bags are an excellent find Ozark, and your idea to post them as a visual for others to identify buckles and such was also an excellent idea. I agree with getting them oiled up and displaying them somewhere in your home.

Sweet Find and Happy They Getting Treated and Moving In The House!

Thanks For Posting Pics!

Kace
