Well, it has a green color under a coat of red. Also looks kinda heavy.

Can anyone else say anything more about this rock?

Almost looks like tumbled piece of granite with a lot of epidote in it.

Post it on a geology site, they could tell you based on region type of typical rock ect.. just a guess

You will need to know the geology of the immediate area. That will tell the tale.

Anywhere really deeply formed metamorphic rocks have been exposed at the surface, it may be found. So I have read. I have never seen it first hand, and just find it a very interesting stone with all the different minerals and colors. And it is quite rare and valuable, as a specimen if indeed Eclogite. IMO.

That's exactly the first thing I noticed...
