As usual I checked the machine when we first entered Publix today. Nada. Happened to glance over after checking out and saw 3 large disks. Junk I thought. Casually scooped them out as I walked by and then opened my fist after we exited. Surprise! First halves I've ever recovered. That is why I figured it was junk. The '68 looks especially fine.

Nice silver and $2 Canadian! Score!

As a child, I always checked the pay phones, cigarette machines, and bubble gum machines. Could usually buy a piece of candy at lunch simply by walking couple miles across town.

You’re keeping up the tradition. Too bad there isn’t a gravity door hanging there to keep the suspense at a coin star. The pay phones were such an exciting test. A quarter had pretty good buying power at that time.

I had a very specific route that hit every potential source of free money that people were too stupid to recover for themselves.

There were no pay phones, cigarette machines, nor gum machines in Petersburg, KY when I was a Kid. I did however do pretty good on finding pop bottles and getting the return deposit money.

Yes, I did the same as Tesorodeoro did when i was a kid, too! Congratulations on the 3 great coins! Thanks for posting.

You mean to tell us you didn’t hear those loud clunks in the tray when you’re grabbing milk in the back of the store?
Nice score on the silvers!
