Well I was looking for gold today but it wasn’t to be had.

During my 1 ½ hour morning hunt I found the 1950D and a 1951S wheat penny. I also found a 1960 dime (with the mint mark (D)) on the back and a small (js) to the left of the date). What’s the supper small js mark about? Found them all near the playground in the pic. Without the help of the scrape the dime would have been down at least 10”. I dug it at 5” and the sound was a solid whisper.

During my 1 hour 15 minute evening hunt I found the 925 heart ring. I found it near one of the dugouts (not shown in pic). The park is going through a renovation. It has a football field, three baseball diamonds and is early 60’s vintage.

JS are the engravers or designers initials. Nice finds... I would be hitting it hard with it all tore up like that!

Nice finds in a short time. The site looks promising. Between your avatar and the caption below it, does that mean you're military?

Very nice silver ring! Also very nice silver dime! WHeaties are always a joy to dig! :)

what a sweet spot... I'd be out there as much as I can when they scrape a field like that... Hit that baby hard...

Nice finds...........congrats.................HI HO SILVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOTTA LOVE THIS HOBBY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gotta love that silver - no feeling like see it come out of the dirt.

I love to dig the occasional wheat as well - they are becoming a little more scarce by the day.

Thanks for the info Cannonman17 and everyone else for all the nice replies.

willie d, that would mean I'm a brokechanic (Mechanic) on one of those things. I was in the Army from 1974 to 1977, 11-B-10 would be an Infantryman. That's a Marine vehicle in my avtar.]

Cleaned up that ring, came out ok. The two green dots are where I found the wheat pennies and the blue dot is where I found the 1960 dime. I found the ring far from the announcer’s booth which sits on a poll about 20 feet up.

Gotcha. I was in the Army, stationed at Ft. Irwin, CA. The picture of the park kind of looked familiar.
