Was about 5 miles up in a mountain in Connecticut today doing alittle gold panning. I was digging in the stream when I came across this..Not sure what it is..Couldnt get any pics of it so I had to video it..Looks like it was tumbling around in the water for a long time. It is all stone. Has holes drilled in it crudely. I didnt realize till I got it home that it had a mark on the bottom.. Any Ideas...What makes me wonder is because of how far from civiliztion we where..

What is the material? Stone? Wood? Petrified? Interesting. - Noodle

It is stone. I passed it over my detector to see if there is any trace of any type of metal but there is none. It is all Stone

could the stone be coral?

it reminds me of a mount for those japanese reality sculptures popular with troops coming home from japan
little rikshaws, clam shells, tiny people?

I dont think it is coral. It seems to have quartz on the bottom of it.

At first it looked like petrified bone. But now I see the marking, I'm not sure...

looks like a fossilized vertebra piece. Very weird! :icon_scratch:

I agree w/Tom. Looks to be a fossilzed vertabrae that an ancient man found and took a liking to, and drilled some holes in it.
