Found strange brooch

Found all this at a site that had a skirmish in 1813. Have found many old coins here. Could use help on age of brooch.

It looks to be etched Amber.

Is the etching recessed? if so it could be a wax seal of some sort rather than a standard brooch.

Either way it is a fine looking brooch

I looked closer at the backside and it appears there may have been something attached once, it's still a contender for a nice wax seal knowing the carving is recessed
