iam not sure what the button is or the buckle ? but i was out where a Civil War training camp used to be out here on the Northfork of Long Island back in the mid 1800,s WOW ! WAS I SUPRISED Jim :icon_thumleft:

The buckle looks like it's from the mid1700's very early 1800's and the eagle I looks like it from the 1830's. Both are without a doubt precivil war. Does the button have a backmark. Cool stuff

Hi vayank the button has Young Smith New York on the back i had no idea that buckle was that old i was in a place heavily wooded near my home that used to be a Civil War training camp out here on the Island so i been told . Thanks for the history :icon_thumleft:

You're welcome. That buckle might actually be a bit older than I first said but it is an early one. The Young & Smith backmark can go from 1830 to the late 1850 but that one is on the earlier end. I would be hitting that place some more. I love the early stuff
