Found this arrowhead on the gulf coast of the Florida panhandle

Found this arrowhead on the beach on the Florida panhandle. Can anyone help me ID and date it? It's about the length of two quarters.

Posting it here is fine, but it's more of a general knowledge area for unusual things that people can't identify. Charlie P. was just pointing out that you'll likely get better feedback in the North American Indian Artifacts section. The experts on points will see it faster over there. Posting in multiple forums on this site isn't an issue so post it again over there.

I think new users can take as statements directed at them the signature line some use which appears at the bottom of a user's reply. A signature line may be interpreted to apply to the immediate question when it's intended as a general statement of the responding user. I, too, have been thrown by signature lines. Perhaps placing the signature line within the user's other information like join date and location could alleviate the issue.

Just a theory .
I think this originally was a typical "contracting stemmed" point which Florida has many names and varieties of.
Notice the odd little half circle of tiny chips taken off both faces, to narrow the stem. red
I think the barb was broken at one point, yellowand someone repurposed it by quickly narrowing the stem to better balance the point.
Leaving a narrower, lance-like point, compared to its original shape.

There's many similar styles in Florida ... it may have started out as a Marion ... but, that's just one possibility.

This is great information thank you! And yeah another person also told me its a Marion and I definitely agree after researching it. Also are you saying this was repurposed recently or back when it was originally used? I really want to know how old this thing is.
