Open it up. On the tang, the part where the bottom of the blade meets the handle, it should say Camillus, Ulster, New York Knife Co. or Imperial. It may say something else, but I doubt it. Those were makers. Yours looks to be an Imperial that probably dates from 1948 or 1949 to 1955. Should be at least 57-58 years old or more. Let me know who the maker is if I'm wrong. The broken blade really hurts the value, but it is the first smooth handle I have seen. Most were plastic made to look like bone.

:sign10: your right! with a magnifying glass and with the help of your eyes, I could see it! I looked with a magnifying glass before I posted it and all I could make out was that it looked like letters! LOL

Yes it is a shame, but since I didn't know it was in the box in the first place, that makes it a little better! LOL
