I'm not really sure what this item i found is. It is made of stone, does not register on metal detector. My wife thinks its part of a stone pipe. Anyone seen anything like this? If it is a Native american artifact what do I do with it, Is there a market for these kinds of things. The native americans from the area this was found are the Serrano people or perhaps one of the other tribes that now make up Morongo Band of Mission Indians.

Yeah just keep it. There’s nothing more amazing than having a nice Native American pipe collection. Don’t sell it or you’ll end up regretting it one day when you want to have some talk

I am a Mission Indian from the Diegueno tribe and we are tied in with the Morongo tribe you could sell or keep it, but I would hope first you would possibly try and find a museum that would like it in a collection although they might just warehouse it.So maybe contact the tribe and find if they have a Mission that would display with other artifacts under glass so it could be viewed by all.Just ask for a plaque or card showing you donated it or are loaning it for display. The mission in Santa Ysabel was our local mission and we had artifacts there that were done that way.
