I was out with my metal detector yesterday trying to find the site of an old sawmill. I may have found the sawmill and will go back later to check it out, but I also eye balled this little bottle. It has a seam, so it's not hand blown. It has a cork stopper. It's 5" high, 2" wide light blue in color and just feels really good in the hand. I really like the bottle. I know nothing about bottles except for vey little I picked up bottle digging with my Dad as a kid. It looks so nasty inside and I would love to clean it up, but would this take away from it's value, if it even has any value? Can anyone give me an idea what type bottle this is? OR direct me to a site where I can look into it?I'll be heading back to the site after the mosquitoes calm down with propper digging tools to see if I can find more.

Thanks in advance.

I can tell you that this bottle is common and has little value. It is probably a household bottle,ex; shoe polish, chemical, medicine, etc. It would have had a paper label. It looks like it had a tooled top,but unable to tell from photo.
Look for bottles that have words embossed on the side of the bottle. This is the way to ID the bottle and its contents plus rarity.

Clean it up and display it. It has a great color and tho not worth much its still a nice find.

Thank you so much for the information on the bottle. I will definitely clean it up and display it. :)
