Is the seller in China? I don't buy anything from there. My guess is they are not real.

No it was from some south american country I believe. The price just seems way too cheap to me.

My wife ordered me a coin from ebay that looked like one of them.

There are so many fake items on ebay its impossible to find good stuff.

Check the feed back....after looking at them they look like they were land dug. And the feed back is not bad, the one negative feed back said the coins looked better in the picture posted. And the seller is in Spain....

Does being land dug change anything?

It really is a lot more exciting to find them yourself but being your not near a area that may give a few up it would be nice just to see how they come up on the detector, maybe for a test garden. I would post this over on the Ship wreck forum, they see a lot of this stuff.

Every eBay auction has a questions about the item section, click on "ask a question" and inquire if the items have been professionally graded "Spanish Colonial" and request the actual grade details. If legit, they should be able to return an answer with numbers), from there it should be fairly easy to make your decision. Good Luck.

they made copper coins like these by the millions - they can be a dime a dozen - and for them over there they can be as common as wheat pennies
you can buy roman coins super cheat too that were made by the tons - guy on another forum got a bag full for like $20 and was wondering if they were real or not
theyre real - but people selling them found a dump truck full in the desert

No, I don't think so!
With due care and proper research, you may be able to find a good fake!
