Found this possible meteorite in michigan

I have looked online and it seems to have passed many of the tests that I see. It seems heavier than it should be for similar size rock weighs about 5lbs. It is attracted to a magnet. Some sites say you might see finger grooves or fingers pushed in. It seems to have a crust with different inside. I have ground off a very small portion and the inside seems different than the crust. Hoping I could get some validation I realize most people are wrong. I have attached a few photos. Love some opinions. Just found your site looks pretty cool. All the treasure hunting.

I don't know what this is, but I'm 100% sure it's not a meteorite. Those linear trough-like features are very uncharacteristic and they seem to extend through the rock, such that there is a grid-llke pattern of squares at the end which is very uncharacteristic for a meteorite, as shown in this edit from your first picture:



What you're referring to as "finger grooves" seen on the surface of some meteorites, are not actually grooves. They're called 'regmaglypts', and have the appearance of a rounded depression, much like what would be created if you pushed the tip of your thumb into wet clay. What I see in your rock look like sedimentary features to me... and there are no known sedimentary meteorites. I think this is something nodular from a terrestrial sedimentary deposit. I have seen things of a similar nature that were nodules of siderite (iron carbonate). They're common in sandstones and shales and sometimes form around something as a concretion, with residual patterns from whatever acted as the nucleus.

I appreciate that. Found on the ground in a Forrest. But there are a lot of buried rocks on the property. Just looked nothing like any other rock there. All the other rocks are buried. Thanks for info
