Found this rock in the a shallow area of the Guadeloupe river in Texas about ten years ago. Thought it was cool. My daughter painted it but over time paint wore off. I cleaned the rest of the paint off today and noticed a crystal or something lodged in a crevice. Wondering now what sort of rock this might be. Always looked like poop to me [emoji4].

Could be a few things but its got character Penny. Off the top of my head I take it for a well worn bit of sedimentary silicate.

Thank you DDancer. It does indeed have character . My daughter painted it to be Mother Mary holding a baby. Lol.
I tend to lean towards rocks that are different. [emoji6]

Interesting and unusual rock formation...

It'd make a good conservation piece, paper weight or door stop, or even a pet rock.

I'm becoming quite the "rock" lady with all my pet rocks [emoji6]

Interesting rock, the uniformity of color makes me think it is slag from a larger mix of cement but the form looks molten.hope you can figure it out..not really a rock expert but they are around here.

they look like nodules...spheres cemented together over time in a common matrix, most likely part of a larger grouping.
