1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Carl99! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

2nd - I moved ya from TODAY'S FINDS! over to WHAT IS IT? for more exposure.

At first I thought it was a bullet shell but it seemed a little too thick. Then I thought it might be a lead bullet but it was pretty rusted. Having a hard time identifying exactly what it is. Any help is appreciated

Thanks for the reply. Do bullets rust? All of the other bullets I’ve found are never rusty. It’s also pretty hollow. I will add some more pics

I would say that a full metal jacket bullet would rust on the outside. They where use main by the military in most countries but there was many sold to the public as surplus and used as cheap target ammo.

Welcome!

Much surplus ammo had steel jacketed bullets. Soviet Bloc armories were notorious for it.

Copper costs a lot more.

As others said definitely a bullet you can the striation marks on it from when it exited the barrel of the gun(basically the finger print of the gun).
