It looks like the moving part of a latch to me, but I really have no idea, like on a jewelry box or something. neat looking find.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I'm glad I'm not the only one stumped by it. I know its nothing special but I kind of like it even though I'm mainly a coin shooter.
