Found what i think is an old homesite from the 1890's

The grass is 3 foot tall and thick but i did manage to find somethin in a small clearing that i cant wait for the grass to die or go dormant so its not so thick but the reason i think a house was there is there are tons of pink and red roses on the site and some sweet william

Wait till spring. The snow will lay the grass down and the moisture will be good.

well they have pretty strict laws on chemicals up here and although i am liscensed by the state to spray its right next to a blue ribbon trout stream so im pretty sure the deq would have issues

Is it public or private? Can you bring a weedwacker?

Me and my detecting partner just decided to hold off on hunting a couple of our spots til fall or winter The rains of the last month have the woods looking like a jungle. We will probably only have 1 chance to do it "right" so holding off seems like the best course.
