Found while checking pennies...

Checking pennies last night and came across a cent that had the Mason's seal stamped on the face of the coin at Lincoln's nose. Anyone know what's up with that? Could it have been used in a Masonic rite or contest? Pretty sure that it did not come from the mint with that on it. Tks.

My son Tanner found a Mason penny last December. We asked a Mason about it and he said that some older Masons would make up rolls of them and sell them to other members. I do not think there is much value in it.

There used to ba a coin Dealer at a Local Farmers Market
in the 70's who sold the Type In my first Pic.

He had them with Lincoln Looking at many different Things.

cool find! i too found one a long time ago, and just threw it in a jar w/ odd finds, and weird crap ive found in rolls...cool to know there was more to it than some 12 yeear old trying to be a smarta$$ like i thot! keep it up and hh!

If you check E-Bay you will find the stamp for sale . It's a recruitment tool . As we usually wear the ring and have the emblem on the car some fellas will stamp a roll or more and distribute them as they shop . They are noticable .Just a way of "spreadin' the word".
