I found this coin sized object a few years ago at an old primitive campground near Big Sur, California. I have cannot figure out if it's an old Hebrew coin or pendant or what?

There was a small hole punched in the top of it and it's slightly larger than a quarter.

If anyone has any idea what this object is, please feel free to chime in. It appears to be very very old.

I'm not sure what type of metal it's made of. I attached a pic comparing it to a pic I found on the internet of an Ancient Hebrew Pendant. They look pretty close.

Any help is appreciated.

Yours appears to be some sort of Arabic coin to me, but I really don't have any knowledge of them. Hopefully someone else will have a better id for you

I'm certainly not well versed in such things but it looks more like Tibet or Nepal to me.

Back in the day, there were tons of Hippies at Big Sur. Probably some guy tripping of acid figured he was the Dalai Lama.

I'm no expert in Hebrew but I think this is a Shema Israel pendant.

What BosnMate wrote or from the Victorian period when the Egyptian fad occurred. That area still has lots of Hippie types. There's a member that goes by TomfromSalinas that will know more, heck he's a docent in that area, and he finds more gold coins and Phoenix Buttons than you can shake a stick at.

Interesting find!

It is a Nepal Mohar coin, King Jaya Prakash Malla (AD 1736-1768), low grade silver.

The hole means that it was probably worn as jewelry at some time.
