Clean it up some. Can't tell yet.

It appears to be pewter but I can’t make out what’s up and what’s down image-2021-01-19-17:34:12-121.webp

It's a 19th century US military button. I see an eagle holding a shield!

Head in the middle, wings on each side, shield. I'm not sure which button it is but do think it's military.

Maybe a Kepi strap button........... Nice find!

Iowa Dale

This should be better. The resolution on that screen-grab was pretty poor.

Oh Smokey I appreciate your knowledge so much. Where would you put it in the 19th century If you had to guess?

War of 1812 period.

I love the military buttons from this time period and have only ever found one. Searching hard for one of the script ones.

Truth those are some great buttons. I don't think there is anyone who puts that much work digging through BRICKS than you do. Well done.
