One of my best and favorite finds from back before the internet when my Garrett BFO ruled. Had permission for one of George Washington's HQs, and found three large cents and the Connecticut Auctori all stuck together with verdigris in one hole. The 1833 large cent is almost new condition so I suppose they were lost in the 1830s. You can see how thin the CT coin was worn down to. Other pics are my oldest coin so far, also found circa 1970-71, a 1720 farthing with a shield nickel for size reference which isn't a bad coin either. I found the farthing in a school field across from a Dutch colonial house (still occupied) that was built in 1731. The shield nickel came from another school yard.
