Free eggs??

3rd year in a row at same spot: under the clothesline. Nice sized snapper. I hope they hatch this year. Raccoons tear up the egg piles if found.

I wonder what horrors would unfold if someone gave a snapping turtle egg to a broody hen to sit on.

Someone set an old metal milk crate upside down over a nest at one place I visited.
Surprise surprise a fox was interested in the open area (using it's nose) during daylight and didn't avoid our being there .

Put a chicken wire enclosure over the nest.
cayenne pepper, coyote urine, might be helpful also.
Rather see a few more Snappers than coons any day.
I had to give this one a move the other day.
She thought the middle of the road was an OK spot.

I did add some crushed, dried ghost pepper last night
