These are fresh from the farm. I got out surface hunting and digging for about 8 hours yesterday. I figured I'd share these pictures first. My favorite one, I took a picture of it before I picked it up. I thought it was a piece of bark at first. I was starting to get fooled by the thin pieces of bark laying around, so I almost missed it. I bent down and touched it, just checking the surface and once I did I knew I had a sweet point. I cleaned these up first and took some quick pictures. That quartz scraper and the Stemmed Kirk are both killer pieces! Then, when I clean the others in that box, I'll post them on here later also. I probably collected a lil bit of everything; for example, debris, flakes, knives, scrapers, and broken points. I left a lot of flake behind, but I figure that'll be enough evidence for the next person who hunts there too. Many of these places I hunt, I get permission to hunt only once. I take what I can while I have the opportunity. The areas I hunt stretch from the northern part of NC to the southern. I have many places to hunt in NC; Surry, Stokes, Yadkin, Davidson, Randolph, Stanly, Montgomery, Union & Anson Counties (basically the stretch of the Yadkin/Peedee River) has been my bread and butter. So far this year, I've made some good finds. Remember that flaked adze? That was the first artifact I found this year. Then, I started picking up the pace a little more and finding some better sites. After finding these, I feel like I'm beginning to move into the "Indian-apolis" of NC.
