HI guys, went by scraped football site today and guess
what, they were trenching in drainage tiles in the field a
bunch of us guys have been hunting for the past couple of
weeks.

I got on the phone and called a few guys to come down to the
site right away. Three of us ended up hunting this afternoon and
four other people stopped by and went bottle hunting.

I found a few cork bottles, a couple of Wheaties, a buffalo nickel,
a Hotpoint good luck coin, must be from the 1920's, it has a horseshoe
and swastika on the back along with a four leaf clover. Also found a
real nice 1853 Large cent.

My buddies found a couple of Indian head pennies and a walking Liberty
quarter, couldn't read the date.

Well I'll keep you posted on any finds that come from the great location. I
think our club might hunt there tomorrow night after our meeting. We are
going to have to hurry though, they are going to put turf over the complete
site. HH, Ringfinder

Beautiful large cent there, for sure, and the other finds aren't bad either.

The good luck coin you found is from 4H organization, probably before WWII, but I don't know what year. The Swastika was an American Indian sign for luck.

Your right in all aspects of the good luck token, except it's not a 4H token it's a HOTPOINT Good luck coin.
It says buy your ranges and other items at HOTPOINT, thanks for the info bobr. I'm always looking for answers to unsolved misteries. HH, Ringfinder, P.S. I went back to the same site last night and found
a St. Christopher and many clad coins and another tossle pin, dated 2006. HH, Ringfinder

That coin has nothing to do with being nazi, like it says, its a good luck coin, hitler used this symbol in his own scheme, it naturally means good luck, but he shifted it around, which puts a spin on it, like (bad luck). I hate how people think a buddhist wearing this symbol is a nazi, the nazi party really messed that symbol up.

Wow! :o Thats an awesome large cent.

I too found a scrapped football field. The mud was so deep I couldn't walk in it. I did find a Barber dime along the edge though.
Your post reminded me that I should go back now since we haven't much rain lately. Here is what it looked like about a week and a half ago.
