Tried a field which we have had Celtic/Roman/Saxon/Medieval from in the past. Spent 2 hours with:

4 Roman Coins
Bronze Roman Brooch
& bits

Decided to move on.....

Roman Site...

Returned to the Roman Site for 4 hours:

28 Roman Bronze Coins
Roman Lead Steelyard Weight

Very please with the circa 1800-1815 Harts Militia Button

This field is pretty much done with for this year, with exactly 500 roman coins.

Only Roman coins .... you should find more Saxon coins are rare and expensive.

Yes Saxon coins are rare & even rarer in my area. I have no Saxon Sites in over 6000 acres of fields.
