Hey Aqua ! Saying I will take it was my way of expressing joy and jubilation . I really wish the barrel was not missing . I can find no marks on it whatsoever !

Great stuff MR! I got my first gun part and am soooooooo psyched. Think it's an oldie too. 1796 is a nice old one bud. That place may be hiding more great finds eh

the valve looking thing top right on your first pic is from a coffee maker. i know because i have a old style one to make my coffee. nice finds bud! willy

To find a coin 218 years old is just plain "AWESOME" ! Makes you wonder just "WHO" lost it ! Outstanding work !

Thanks Quindy ! I feel good so I can dig ! I Had a back injury last year for the first time in my life and was down for 3 months of prime time digging ! The butt plate I still have to research ! It is quite wide at just over 1and 3/4 inches wide ! heavy and quite thick ! The site dates to about 1760 give or take so could be earlier. I find nothing early 19th century so I believe the place burned down just after the civil war. So right now about all I got it narrowed down to is a hundred year time window ! MR
