Got out Friday AM to Bel Air and Saturday AM to Baltimore.

Friday started out with a tombac button. It is shown next to a shallow U-frame shaped piece that has a primitive decoration of 9 dots at each end and a pattern between them that may be taken to be a key. Could this have been attached to a lock? It looks period with the tombac buttons (2) and large cent, half cent , and shoe buckle fragment that have come from this area. After that I shot into the woods and collected 19 shotgun backmarks. The best are pictured: 5 UMC, 2 Winchester, and 1 US; the UMC Nitro Club has the petals surrounding the primer, which dates it to the 1890s.

Baltimore on Saturday was a drizzle all the way. $2 in clad, a 1913 wheat, a 1983 McDonald's token and a late 19th century heart pendant was the take. When I dug the token I thought I had a silver dollar; it is the same diameter as one and has a reeded edge.

Fun to get out. Hunting at Druid made me extra thankful to being able to look for relics in Bel Air, where the "trash" in the ground is mostly iron.

Happy Hunting!

Congrats on yopur find MC. Really like the token and the pendants. Hope your next hunt is a little more dry than the last weekend.

Congrats on pulling a few keepers McCDig. :occasion14:

Thanks L-D! Went out this AM to a city park and came away with 28 cents. Total bomb, this place is a trash heap! I must have been looking in all the wrongs spots. I'd rather be in the woods digging shotgun shells!

Thanks Jamie. My White's pinpointer got pretty wet and I made the mistake of leaving it out in the rain overnight. Dried it in the sun today and now it is finally working right!

Glad you were able to get your pin pointer to work again. I alwasy tape the speaker on my garrett so I don't get anything in through the speaker. i hit the ball field we talked about and you were right about finding quatrters. $10.00 in quarters alone. Only found a couple of wheats though. Heading back Saturday if the rain isn't too heavy. Sunday I'm heading up to Adams PA to hunt a farm that dates back to the early 1800's. Good luck to you for this weekend.

Nice haul! When the VDI says "81" it usually means a "quarter dollar"!
