I've been hiding the shadows the past several months and finally decided to set up a profile and post.

My husband and I travel the country in an rv with our three dogs and a small parrot. While he is still employed, I spend hours playing in the dirt and learning about gold, rocks and metal detecting.

We have just come from a campground in Butler, OH where some lovely folks invited us to the Buckeye Chapter of the GPAA outing called Fossick. It was the first time we got to use my new Equinox 800 (they had a nightime blacklight 'swing dancing' event.) We also participated in the common dig and enjoyed meeting some really nice people.

We will be staying in New Stanton for the next 30 days and I'm hoping to do some detecting, trying to located a club or group of folks in the area.

I've been prospecting almost a year (learned last summer while in Colorado) and stumbled across this website, upgraded my membership this evening...I figure I have received far more than $20 value in education and entertainment, so why not chip in to keep the site going.

I'm not very vocal but I'll certainly be around. If there is anybody in SW PA wanting a hunting buddy, drop me a line.

Thank you! I'll head straight over to the PA sub-forum.

BTW -- my brother found 11 grams of gold over in York. He said it was about 80 hours worth of work, so probably not very cost effective, but, hey, gold is gold!
