greetings!

well, it finally stopped raining and i had the bug...bad.

i met up with dan at a barrio park that we have all pummeled with our explorers. the ground was saturated. we hoped that the moisture would help with the deeper targets. within 5 minutes i had an '06 indian. soon after that came a rosie...then another. then i hit an area along a walkpath and started hitting 20s and 30s wheats around 8-9 inches. i turned around and hunted the strip in the opposite direction as before. that idea turned up a '14d barber dime! sweet! after that i went to a particularly pounded area. this was an area that was hit the hardest back when val, jayson, ratman, dan, goldenapples and myself first started hunting this park. it's like, ground zero or something.:glasses11: so i start hunting and get a whisper and out comes a '42 merc. later, in another area , i found my second merc, another '42. all the while i was picking up wheats every now and then. this all took place over 5-6 hours. many of the coins were in the 7-8 inch range, with a few at 9+". one of the rosies was at three inches, go figure.

after that i was back on the freeway early to beat traffic back to dana point. dan, it was fun! i got my fill. jeez, i wish i lived around the corner from that park. i'd live and breathe there.

good luck everyone!

HH,
Mike

Good hunt, and hunting....and I like your moniker....hiking is where it is at. ;D

Awesome haul. Gotta love moist ground. That dime was whacked pretty hard, ha. Good thing it wasn't one of the Mercs.

Very nice job on the barber dime and the indian head penny! :)
