Found this ring at an ARC store last Saturday. It's weird how this top piece is brazed to this cheap once silver plated brass ring. The top is definitely not made of silver and has the look of maybe platinum?. Even the stone setting has me intrigued. The total weight is 2.7 grams and you can tell the top it much heavier than the cheap ring brazed to it. I'm gonna head over to the local gold & silver buyer today and see if this is a precious metal piece attached to a cheap ring for some reason?? Maybe it was once a pendant someone wanted turned into a ring?? There are no marks anywhere on it. I'll update my findings after I see the Gold Guy.

Actually I bet you are 100% correct. I suspect it is a white gold and sapphire stick pin top that was repurposed to a ring! GREAT EYE!

That just may turn into a nice score. Good eye! :icon_thumleft:

Turned out as bogus on an electronic tester. Must be nickel silver or something?? Oh well the loss of a buck twenty-nine ain't much to cry about.

Funky Town. Also keep an eye out for this style of clothes. And if you feel funky join in. A little Soul Train comming at you.

Too bad about the ring, but like you said, no big loss.

Beans, thanks for the vid. Watched that show a lot when I was a kid.

I would have guessed gold for sure. Mix it with other jewelry and sell as a lot at your next yard sale. It will entice a fellow picker.

I'll toss it in the city park and maybe it'll show up on the "today's find" forum from some other TN member :dontknow:
