"GADGET" Need help to identify

I found this gadget thing at a colonial era sight i've been searching.
The side says PATD MARCH 2 1875.
The base has a couple screw mounting holes and the holes at each end appear to be mounting holes. The things at the top appear to be finger levers or something.
Overall size is about 4 in x 3 in.

Definitely a window lock. I saw some similar to it at the salvage store a while back, not quite as ornate as yours though.
