I found this today in an area that is rumored to have a silver mine. Does it look like Galena? And aside from an assay, are there any tests that I could do on it? Thanks in advance! IMG_20191103_082034517.webpIMG_20191103_082019991.webpIMG_20191102_165545914.webp

Hard to say but one way to test for galena would be to scrap a pile of it together and hit it with a torch. The sulfur in galena easily separates and will leave soft lead behind. To me your picture is either galena or pyrite in my opinion. You can also ask the folks in the hard rock mining forum for advice. Luck.
