Garrett 1500

I recently gave mine to my nephew, because I got the GTI 2500 over a year ago. I feel that the GTI 1500 is the best coin hunting on the market today. Once you learn it and its limitations, you can save time by leaving so much junk in the ground . I usually de-tune my GTI for more accurate pinpointing, and establish my targets center using the coil about 5 inches above the target. I have found over 60,000 coins with mine. You don't see too many people posting about the GTI 1500 and you don't see many come up for sale either. People hang on to these machines.....

I'm not going to hang onto my GTI 1500. It works OK, it just doesn't impress me as being deep or able to handle wet saltwater even with the salt mode turned on. This could be because of more black sand there too. I do like the overload signal and imagining.

In certain areas, beaches and depth aren't it's greatest strength. In my area, I have no salt beaches and the ground is such that I can usually run the machine wide open with full sensitivity. Probably 95% of my finds are in the top 4-5 inches, so the lack of depth is not really a factor. I can just quickly go over a target, size it a couple of times and pretty well know if it is coin size or not very quickly and accurately. I just dig the coin size objects unless my notches indicate a junk target.

Hi-- I have the 2500, not the 1500, but they are similar. I am very satisfied with all aspects of this
detector. I'm very dependant on the imaging capability of this machine- -find it absolutely amazing!!
Depth seems good as compared to other people's machines.
Don't see many on the secondary market-- makes ya wonder........
