anyone know why the machine would say there is a signal then dip over to iron and its silent?? till i hit operate?

When your swinging the coil ,i look at the read out and it is far left on iron,never made a sound.It will continue to be silent until i hit the operate button. Seems like it will sense iron and lock it self into iron and not sense anything till i hit operate

Do you have the iron notched out? Maybe when your hitting operate its going to another disc mode and notching iron back in? Just a guess.

My machine does the same thing I just figured it to be a reset to the original (current hunt settings) so Ive become accustomed to it and now hit the operate button almost automatically.
