garrett ads 7 battery tray

I moved this request from Metal Detecting over to Brands > Garrett for more exposure.

does no one have a clue ? really ?

I don't understand your question. The regular tray uses 6 and the rechargeable uses 4. The rechargeable will only last a few hours before needing recharged.

just wondered how the detector needs 4 9 v standard batterys normally for detection and 2 for audio. and only 3 8.4 nicad for detection and 1 8.4 nicad for audio; how can the detector work ? voltage requlator to a lower voltage needed by circuits ?

You got me. The battery check will not go as high even with new and fully charged batteries compared to the standard tray.
Those old machines are power hounds for sure. Did I mention that they are heavy? lol
Amazing how deep a 7.5 inch coil will find a coin though. Actually, I guess if a ran a new machine with the pinpoint button pushed all the time to mimic the no motion, they'd do just as well or better.
Fond memories using a MH7 with the box hip mounted and a 12" coil...
Good luck to you!

yep it is just a wonder I will know soon and will post my findings. My ads 7 does not have a battery tray. I am making a pack for it with 18650 batterys. I saw a guy do it on youtube. I will report what I find. And not keep it to myself. These are great machines , they need to get out of the closet and find those deep items.
