GARRETT ADS 7 MASTER HUNTER

I bought an ADS7 back in '86'. I would use it , but it is not operating correctly...needs repair. ..but, is it worth getting fixxed or is it too outdated.? How does it stack up against todays' newer and lighter detectors?...it does have the two -box part , too. Would you send it in for repairs?
I know this is not the forum for repairs...but, another guy with the same problem in the 'repairs forum' is'nt getting any response. Alittle help...opinions anyone?

Thanx Beale...Next time I get to my storage unit in another town ,where it is, I'll dig it out..and look it over...have'nt seen it for 7 years..lol.
