Hi everyone I am hunting a old house site tomorrow and I know there are a bunch of nails there so I heard. I am still learning this machine I have about 50 hrs on it. I wanted to know what settings would be good to help find a coin in with nails. I already have the 5x8 coil. What about iron disc on 40 with iron audio or what about pro zero no iron disc.

Also what are your setting when going into a nail infested area. Thanks

Is this gonna be a one time only hunt?... or can you live there this spring? Were it me? I would cherry pick high tones in standard mode w/ iron at 40... then go from there narrowing down your targets in pro mode.

No I wish I could live there but my cousins do. I can go back any time I want

kinda what I meant.... so, fact is, you will have cleaned up the yard when all is said and done.

run pro mode, zero mode, mid sense, iron scrim 20, notch all in, work kinda slow, dig all repeatable mid and high tones. Nails do not fool atpro.

Your AT Pro isn't broken if some nails still show up with these settings if they are rusty or ground is wet. Good luck and have fun.:occasion14:

Even with iron scrim zero, and notch at zero, and high sense, nails do not fool atpro......when I say fool, I mean they do not break into high pitch or even mid pitch, like round rusty targets such as washers and steel crowns. Unless the nail is huge, then pro will bark high pitch for a bit. Round rusty targets like washers and crown caps will "fool" an atpro and most machines, but even then, its not too difficult to tell that the target is in fact iron, by using IA, or just fiddling around the target for a few seconds, the crappy iron grunts give it away eventually. If you are trying to dig an iffy target and you cant find it, its almost certainly a deeper rusty nail. Atpro with stock dd cannot pinpoint nails accurately.
