5x8 coil, and learn the Iron Audio, and use it , and you bottle cap digging will only be because you want to!!

I don't have problems with bottle caps with it. I have dug up some just to be sure but you can tell the diff but I will admit I have been fooled by a couple that were old aluminum ones that were 8 inches deep. The regular beer tops are easy to id in my opinion.

Dusty, you'll like it. It's not ANYTHING like the Aces. We'll have to get Ryan out more this year too.

Yeh for sure he didnt do much hunting last year...i didnt get much done with work and all but this spring im going to hit it hard ....

Love mine, especially the 5x8 coil.

I hear alot of good things about the 5x8 maybe i will add it once i get some swing time on the 8x11 ....fella uses the 5x8 im sure i will hunt with him this summer and see how it works compared to the 11

If you get the 5x8 you will notice a big difference in your finds and the detector will be lighter and better balanced.

Believe me once you get about 200 hours on it you will be amazed how much the tones tell you. My bottle cap and tab finds have been about one to each $1 of clad I have found. Practice with all the different settings then set up a custom setting for what you hunt most

Ya just wont find the deeper bottle caps and stuff with the small dd. But thats okay.

Gotta agree with all the opinions on the 5X8 coil. I put mine on last April, and it hasn't come off yet. Other thing I would mention-I found my first two gold rings ever with the Pro (using the 5X8 coil). They were both smaller woman's rings, one a 10K, one a 14K. They rang in at a 45, and a 46. The bigger gold rings, ring in at the 50's (so I'm told, haven't found one of them yet. LOL), but ignoring sweet sounds in the mid to upper 40's could cost you. Good luck, I think you're gonna love it. Artie

I see the at pro is still lacking some very basic features like a simple volume control on the unit and a back light for the screen...these 2 things may not sound like much but theres no reason they couldnt have put that on there list yet...

you knew that before you bought it dusty. I use headphones when in noisy places and no headphones when I can. I could care less about a backlight. I hope you aren't starting to trash talk the pro already. If so why didn't you buy another brand?

The larger coil will find deeper targets..stick with it. Surprised you didn't wanna go with a Minelab Safari. I have heard good things about it and was gonna be my next detector.

Headphones make me too hot when its mid 90's and the sun is beating down...the ace i had installed a guitar switch so i could at least turn the sound down to an acceptable level while hunting with others ...

Thats not something id like to do with a water proof unit besides voiding the warranty id have a chance at water leaks and id have to flip the bill on any repairs..now a back light would be useful to me because i tend to hunt as late as i can once i start the time seems to pass pretty fast and i find myself in the dark wishing i had a light on my detector....
Bashing the at pro? that hasnt happen yet..

The ground is still frozen i have about 2 hours on the unit and that all came from hunting my basement that has a very small patch of ground that isnt concrete i had a good hit that held a pretty good target id and it did turn out to be a dime and also had a wheat that locked in fairly well ...but i also had some nails lock in real good on the target id up in the 80's..

I cant really hold any value on what ive learned so far but it does seem to like nails from what i have found so far with it...i will get a better grip on things once the weather breaks and i can hunt my baseball field ..aka my back yard

Everyone seems to like that 5x8 but im going to hold off because i really got used to the 8.5x11 on my ace 350 and i would have gone with the minelab without a doubt and was 3 days away from placing an order from the etrac when i got some news i needed a new job so with that to consider i placed the at pro order instead since it was more in my price range jobless and all lol ;-)
